Soul searching. A pilgrimage started by the juvenile devotees who tried to find and identify themselves as beings of the planets. While parents do not allow them to start when they were too young to realise the importance of being themselves, children all around the world had actually started their pilgrimage at a very young age: without their parents' consent of course.
Many of them did bizarre things as they reached adulthood. Some started low-budget travelling, where they equipped themselves with only a backpack, some clothes and off they go. Some reckon that they should bond spiritually with their gods, thus, they organised a holy pilgrimage to a shrine, and along the way, they walked barefooted, wearing barely nothing but neccessary clothing to cover their private parts and will only stop for food or sleep. Such weird actions, yet to them, it is just another way to find themselves, and hopefully God will see them and tell them who they really are.
Realising one's self is really important in different aspects of life. For those minor decisions like choosing your own style of wearing, to major decisions like accepting a multi-million dollar project, if you didn't know what do you want, you would just listen to the opinions of your peers. Then in the end, it is not you who is the decision maker, it is your peers. Sure, people might argue that they didn't want to accomplish something big in their lives, but still, all of us need to achieve something in our daily lives. It may help make our lives more meaningful, however we perceived it.
Some of the pilgrims found enlightenment very quickly, but some who are confused, got even more confused about themselves and in the end, they not only lost their identity, they got lost the whole way, unable to find their identity again. This is truly a risk taken by all teens. But some fear of them losing sight of themselves, therefore they didn't want to go on the journey of soul searching, causing them to be the "follower" instead of a "leader". Many of the young ones are unable to find their strengths and weaknesses, therefore they got conned by the society sometimes, and they didn't know about it. It is a sad case of humanity, when something so simple, and can be realised within seconds, get masked by confusion and denial.
People kept questioning why the young ones are not being active in activities that were organised by the "older" people like the government. But does the government actually know what do the young ones want nowadays? Did the government actually take the initiative to conduct activities that can help the students to realise their own self? I doubt so. The government was so engrossed in trying to upgrade their people's academic skills that the mentality was forgotten. That is why it is easy to see older people all having no manners at all, not even trying to improve themselves by language and morality. It's a shame, a very big shame. And this comes from the eyes of the 19 year old who sees people older than me jumping queues, pushing themselves into the bus, and thinking they are still the best thing in the country. Pathetic!
I understand that this is just my own perception of things. But I realise many of the young ones are still clueless on what they really want, even when they reached adulthood. It is good for the youngsters to go out and see how real the world is, and what I mean by real, is how cruel the world can be. The authority breathing down your neck everytime you make a mistake, even the minor ones, they will take into account, just to see the scumbag that we are disappear out of their sight. But if the youngsters know of their strengths, they need not be scared of those evil glares. Just continue on their job and know their priorities.
I had said my piece. I don't know how many young ones can realise that. I just do not want the world to be filled with confused young ones who do not know what they really want. Then, the world will really get themselves in trouble. This is a message to the youngsters: Know your self, go on a soul search when you are ready. What you find about yourself, you must cherish and preserve that, because those are the characteristics that makes you unique and becoming part of world.
Just to answer people's curiousity: Have I found my own self?
I'm glad to say that, I have. Because I had started searching my soul ever since I was 11 years old.
Thanks and good day.

Hey, you can talk to me about this. I think I have a pretty clear idea about what I want and what I'm supposed to do here. It's true what you've mentioned there. A lot of people don't know why the heck they're doing on this good earth...
