Malaysian

Three weeks ago, we were sitting on our last lecture of Comparative Politics. It was the political structure of China. And our lecturer went through it really quickly, because the structure is, err, all just by guessing on how their political structure is like because China still remained part of their closed-doors policy?

Yea

Anyway, as I was saying, our lecturer then told us his worries about our country, what has it been coming through (Back then the "Bar Council protest" was still the rage, hence the trigger the need to discuss). He relate that the problem with us is that we are unable to identify ourselves as a Malaysian.

Then he asked, "What makes us a Malaysian?"

Most of them hurried to go and answer.

"Because we can eat all the food! Nasi Lemak, Roti Canai, Char Kuey Teow..."

Lecturer replied, "Is that the only thing that unites us as Malaysians?"

"We stay in this country. We are able to compromise. We can speak multiple languages..."

Lecturer replied, "During the formation of Malaya, was that willing or forceful?"

"We are all proud of the Malaysian flag, our rich history..."

Lecturer replied, "Our history can only be rich because of the Malaccan sultanate, that little kingdom that we can officially be proud of."

Then he made us all speechless. We couldn't think of anymore reasons. It was typical he said, based on the kind of education we had fed ourselves upon that Sejarah textbook.

And then he argued that what we needed was a national myth. A legend, able to stand on its own to show the unity of Malaysians. No more Malay, Chinese or Indian agenda. But something that could made us all Malaysians.

During the break, my coursemate Rin told me, that she still thinks that by being born here in Malaysia, and to call Malaysia a home, it makes us a Malaysian, despite what our lecturer retorted. Many others agree too. I told Rin that our "open house" traditions transcend culture and race, and it became basically a practise for everyone staying here, as no other country does that. But I wonder if anyone will take that thought in seriously.

I tried asking that question to other non Political Science students.

I asked Joey, she don't really know how to answer. She just said she's born here. Same answer as Rin.

I asked Ephyon. He said "Durians". Okay, more links to food.

I asked my mom. She gave the same answer as Rin.

His question is still in my head, after such a long time. I planned to blog this much earlier, but I guess I just couldn't blog it without searching for the definite answer, without searching for what he deemed as a National Myth.

Lee Chong Wei's Olympic victory (or lost? Depends on how you see it) can be seen as one, not just because of his badminton skills which made Malaysia well known, but also because he was jumped for joy, and bearhugged Misbun Sidek so tightly till he did not want to let go. However, his victory back in Malaysia was too heavily politicised from both sides. Hence I dismissed that part.

And so, three weeks has passed, with Anwar emerging as a victor, some parts of the internet goes missing, I start to dismiss the fact that it is very hard to find that special moment that makes the whole Malaysia, feel, well, Malaysian.

I dug down deep inside of me to search for my special moment that I feel so Malaysian. And I remembered this Petronas commercial.

I still remember it as the best National Day commercial ever, because it shows nothing about race, nothing about propaganda, nothing about "we are different but the same" kind of message. None of it.

The story had narration. Then the scene showed an Indian boy sleeping soundly, then was shaken awake by his father. He was staying in a village. It was 4am or 5am in the morning. He had to endure a very cold bath (which I really could relate to because I was only 9 years old and had just started morning class. Cold baths in the morning everyday. Brr), and was given powder to make himself look clean, together with getting his clothes on.

His father rode a bicycle to a yet to be disclosed area. And they went into the stadium. By that time, there were already a crowd gathering at that stadium. He looked up to the majestic clock. And his father asked him to look at the podium. He was too short, therefore, his father carried him. And he saw, Tunku Abdul Rahman up close.

Screaming "Merdeka!" on the top of his lungs, Tunku Abdul Rahman made that special moment imprinted on every newspaper, every photograph. Even though (I assumed) he did not understand the meaning, the little boy just responded with "YA!". And he and his father, screamed.

And they both looked at each other remembering that moment. Then the narrator came out, revealing to be the boy, 40 years ago, how he witnessed the birth of Malaya, now Malaysia.

Yes, I know that Petronas raked in money like no business, but we all admit that they produced really memorable commercials.

I still feel like crying everytime I remember that commercial. Partly because I too, want to experience, to feel, what is it like, to stand at that stadium, to listen, to witness, the birth of that country. To see the father of the country.

Take apart the colourful parades, take apart the smiles, take apart the oath. Can we not just stand, and look at our Malaysian flags properly, with respect and love?

Take apart our stereotypes, take apart our negativity, take apart that hatred we had for one person, can we not just see, and smile at everybody you meet? Or even utter thank you?

Rip apart politics, and look deep, are we, really hating them for their race, or their stupidity?

Take apart myself, take apart my gender, take apart my multilinguistic abilities, my race, my religion, aren't I born in this country? Aren't I a Malaysian? I did not just came here by boat, or aeroplane, and seek fortune in this land. I grew up here. I salvaged whatever shit or wrong decisions that the government made, and also celebrate with glory upon which my country's name was mentioned. I may be impressed by other country's achievements, but success is still sweetest when my country had done something too.

"What is our National Myth? What makes us a Malaysian?"

The youths today will set course to the history. I want to create a National Myth.

I am a Malaysian.

Extremist

I'm in a pissed off mood cause everyone thinks everyone must be extreme.

"No! Can only take one side! No other choice already! No such thing as best of both worlds one!"

"Shit! Stupid representative don't do anything for us, we must not vote him next time sohai!"

FUCK Extremism!!!!

Who decides the best of both worlds?? You? Me? FUCK THAT THOUGHT! I only take in the knowledge that I like, good or bad! So I'm both good and evil!

What representative don't do anything for us? I thought parking problems had never been a solution. Go and improvise la. We stay in a stupid country run by stupid people, I don't think the next representative is going to come out with the same answers. Next time just don't vote and don't give a damn on what he said lor.

And by the way, no one wanted to be a representative. He was the only one. Had to pull another friend in somemore just to show "competition". It's that pathetic in the first place.

What the hell is wrong with people these days? FUCK FUCK FUCK!!

FINE CALL ME EVIL TOO BECAUSE I LOVE SWEARING WHEN I'M PISSED OFF!

Oh yes, and that stupid Datukships hurling around everywhere. So young also want to give, if like that give us youths one Datukship each la. What's our contribution?

The youths fuckings voted you guys in!

ASSHOLES! NO ONE DESERVES ANY CREDIT ANYMORE!

Mockery Mockery! Ban Her! Ban Her!

I love the mockery in this clip. And I'm totally not going to feel proud nor ashamed of this clip. It's so good to have someone of the Muslim community to mock us some more. Yes! Hypocrites are the best actors in the universe. Thanks EC for putting this clip up for us to see. At least they did not mention anything about the country and more of the logic behind the ban. Of course, they were also poking fun on celebrities for their inability to wear decent clothing.

But I'm sure the government will not be able to get the message and instead just accuse the Youtube site for not checking with facts AND accusing them of being Americanised.

Ban Her! Ban Her! Ban Youtube while you're at it!

Script Script Script! Kita Nangis! Lelaki yg tidak dapat dipindahkan!

Buy the album? I want!

Anyone want to give me The Script's album as birthday present?

First time I didn't want to download it illegally damn. Got such thing as download legally ah? (except for iTunes la. I not so rich, no Ipod, not like the many bloggers out there hmph). I love them so much. "Next big thing" is so nice =D. I could imagine them performing in next year's Grammy's awards already. Note to self: Pimp this post when my wishes came true. =D

Oh yea, I love being me =D.

Oh yea, I finally have a personal space after 20 years. Thank-the-motherfucking-GOODNESS! Must try to readjust my body clock though. No more disturbing sounds from other places already.

Update:

On the other hand....

(Credits to the MAFREL blog)

.....

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

SHIT! It's too funny! Oh my god! I think they might get reprimanded. Unless..

P.M says "It's okay, it's political tactics"

Saiful says "No comments. It's funny *snort*"

Anwar says "Let them. I sure win ^_^v"

D.P.M says "Wtf?"

Arif Shah says "Kua Beh Lok Ki" (Aka 看不下去, Or Can't continue watching. He said he can speak hokkien mah)

Anyone still remember this?

They really are dumb are they? The tactics are so overused. But it's okay, it shows how much mentality they have.

I ain't an Anwar supporter too because I despise thugs who beat up Journalists for no goddamn reason. That means that the supporters there are uncontrollable too.

Both of them can lose la. I don't care who wins.

An Analysis of the LCW vs LD saga

Yes yes, Lin Dan won.

Yes yes, Lee Chong Wei lost. Yet still obtained a silver. It still broke Malaysia's medal records in Olympic over the years.

But lets analyse on how the finals was played shall we?

When they start their first point match already I noticed that Lee Chong Wei looked different compare to his match against Lee Hyun Il. Then the game on. Lin Dan was practically on fire and Lee Chong Wei kept making mistakes.

Then they put a shot at the audience crowd. Xie Xingfang was there alright. But wait, where's Wong Mew Choo?? She was there in every match before this one.

That's my first suspense. Maybe there is a miscommunication between the lovers before the match and it was troubling him.

Second, would be that he had mentioned on his match against Lee Hyun Il that he didn't sleep the night before because he was too nervous. Could it be that he sacrificed his sleep again just to calm himself down? But we all know that lacking of sleep might either be good, or bad.

Thirdly, the Chinese crowd. They didn't use the Boo technique, but it's very close. It was so noisy. I think Lee Chong Wei is the kind of guy who gets distracted and dejected easily. Then again, I think if it was played in Malaysian soil we'll be noisy as hell too.

Personally I liked Lin Dan's badminton style. However, I find his style too aggressive, especially with the new point system, it's giving him too much advantages. One mistake from the other side oso give him marks. Ah well.

Lee Chong Wei was just playing it safe. Albeit too safe. Lin Dan's intention was obvious. Win the gold fast, before Chong Wei strikes back. Chong Wei was having the look of uncertainty. Gold or no gold?

I ain't going to comment on how arrogant Lin Dan looks when he won, because I fully believe we have a sense of kiasu-ness within us, especially the Chinese, specially kiasu. Why do you think Lee Chong Wei hung his head so low even when presented with a silver?

Still, still, STILL, a silver is better than nothing. He still broke national records, he still maintain as World No.2. However, he might get condemned by the press because of his poor performance. 21 - 12, and 21 - 8. It's sort of embarassing. =/

Kudos for trying, he can try harder in the next 4 years, or erm, give that chance to somebody else? =.=

He's the only young gun in the badminton team so far. The juniors are not up to par, the seniors are too old. It's a little saddening too.

Ah well, any hope from the cyclists yet?

Short Review on Wall-E, Presto, Fong Lye Restaurant, WCG 2008 and the 1 million incentive

Wall-E:

I'm so impressed I'm going to end every sentence with a letter that ends with 'E'

There's a robot called Wall-E,

He loves EVE,

He's friendly towards people,

His pet cockroach is divine,

Revived my interest towards oldies, (still counted as end with E)

Must watch because he so cute can die.

The End. Haha. Sorry la, I can't reveal so much about it. You must watch the movie and let you experience the full emotions by Wall E. Hey, even a big tough macho guy like Ephyon, melted under that cutesiness. And I was close to tears for three times. Oh, and I love that cockroach, I love it so much. It actually made me feel reluctant on killing one now. Damn.

Movie Rating: 8/10. Because it should be longer!!! I want more Wall-E!! =D

Presto:

Pixar loves to show an animation short by them before the full length movie. I've been entertained with many on Youtube, and of course the latest is Presto, it's the usual story of a magician and a rabbit. Wait, usual? You go and watch it yourself then you tell me. Rabbit is uber cute. Again, the boyfriend melted. So that's how cute that rabbit was.

I still prefer Lifted. I find an alien with no expression funnier than Presto. Or maybe it reminded me of my experiences while learning to drive. Or it could be the strange yet familiar soundtracks used. But I love it more than Lifted. Still, Presto deserves a 7.5/10.

Fong Lye Restaurant:

If you go to the Gardens Mid Valley, don't ever go there, unless you are a fan of Taiwanese food.

It's a fucking rip off. My pork intestines mee sua is such a small portion and costs RM9.80. Wtf? The boyfriend ordered some Chicken chop rice. Another Ripoff. RM12.80 or something. Sucks.

We finished our food within half an hour and went off. That's how much we hated to be in that restaurant.

I had to made myself fuller by eating another Spicy Chicken McDeluxe.

The boyfriend asked if these are the kind of food I ate when I was in Taiwan.

Hell no, these are the cheap Taiwanese street snacks man, nothing exquisite about it. But I'm to be blamed for bringing him to eat in that kind of restaurant. Sigh. Sorry.

WCG 2008:

Organised by Samsung, hmm.

Saw the Warcraft tournament going on, damn disturbed by the DJ music. Damn, how did the players just play on with those Deejay's continuous music playlist?

It's so small, only 8 booths, with no one there, even when we went at 5pm. Sad.

The dual screens were great though. But the audiences, only the media and sponsor person were there.

The "audience" were more obliged to try out the Wii, Xbox360, Guitar Hero, Call of Duty 4, and many others than to actually look at the game.

What happen to the game enthusiasts?

Ephyon puts the blame on the organisers for not putting on more serious promoting for enthusiastic gamers, or still keeping the mentality of the fact that "gaming will never be a sport". He still prefers to save money so that one day he can go and visit the WCG Asian competition which was held every year in Singapore.

A gamer who had given up on the Malaysian WCG. Sad.

I was laughing at the event board. It spelled "Neffnang". Teehee. So much for being a respected company.

Didn't bother to take pictures of it because it's a waste of my phone memory

RM1 Million incentive:

We discussed about Lee Chong Wei's chance on getting a gold. And this is what the boyfriend said to me.

"I'd rather not wanting to see him get the gold. Then he'll be so rich he'll forgot how to play for Malaysia"

Made me think a lot about that too. Why can't the money be replaced with free service from the government instead? Like medical care and such.

And apparently Ephyon's not the only one thinking that Lee Chong Wei shouldn't win a gold. It's better if he rejected the offer they say, or use the money on something else other than himself they say.

Look at Mohd Hafiz Hashim, once an All-England champion, now a nobody. But it doesn't matter eh? He had the money, the land, a wife. Bringing glory to the country don't matter anymore.

Ah, don't look at something so far, the Koo-Tan pair is the other apparent one. Failed at the quarter finals of the Beijing Olympics. Most of us were disappointed. What happen to the spark? Sigh.

I still want Lee Chong Wei to win a gold though. But it is up to him to decide on what to do with the money he'll get.

The End of all the reviews.

Feels so Badminton-y

Must be that exercise outing that I went to with my coursemates yesterday. Whew, feels good whipping out my racquet and playing to my heart's content. Not content with the body ache though.

And because our own Lee Chong Wei got into the Olympic finals!! Yes! It's either a gold or a silver. Hopefully he'll beat Lin Dan, but I'm not too sure. Argh, damn nervous sial.

I've always been a badminton fan since young, even trained under former world champion of the 60's Han Jian before. However, certain circumstances forced me to pull off after training under him for only 3 or 4 months. But I've never forgotten those skills and find it very useful. So far, compare to others, I know how to hit the shuttlecock with a back hand. Too bad, I could have been at the Olympic platform now =P.

Even though I admit Lee Chong Wei is not too bad, but I grew up watching Wong Choong Hann play, and admittedly it was sad to acknowledge the fact that he's just not as fit as he used to be.

Badminton is the only sport I'm good at and that I could give an analysis on how some players play. I kind of do not like the new point system though. It takes out the fun, although it made scoring much easier and shorten the game alot.

Hmm, am I going to see Wong Mew Choo rooting for her boyfriend, and Xie Xingfang rooting for hers? Who knows.

Lastly I'll present you a programme which highlights on Lee Chong Wei (Non Mandarin speakers or readers might not understand it though)

Lee Chong Wei for an Olympics gold! Who's going to watch the finals on Sunday?

What Matters: Intellectual Discussion or Academic Elitism

This had somewhat brought to my attention when the news regarding the Bar council forum was cancelled midway throughout the discussion about the conversion of Islam due to a protest outside organised by the crowd. The topic in question was to discuss about the conversion of Islam. That sparked a lot of controversies especially from the Muslims, and together they staged a protest outside of the forum venue.

First I believe that most of us would need to be educated on what is a Bar Council, what are their functions, and are their intentions to hold such open forums for discussion, whether is it for truth and justice. Because generally, or maybe it's just me, but I have a very vague assumption of what the Bar Council is used for. My first impression on the Bar Council, is that it is an organisation for lawyers to sign up as members, and then they'll established their own codes of ethics and getting some specific protection through the Council. Something like how the National Union of Journalists(NUJ) here functions.

However, after a quick check around Wikipedia, and our very own Bar Council website, I found out that a Bar Council is supposed to be provide a check and balance on the court cases that have already been discussed. Or it could just be serving as a platform to discuss on various issues and by providing a space for thinkers alike to present different viewpoints on the case. But this does not mean that they are rebelling against the court's decision, but merely pinpoint any faults in the law and giving suggestions on how to improve the law.

(I did like the way they put up their first purpose of the Bar council though. Which is: (a) to uphold the cause of justice without regard to its own interests or that of its members, uninfluenced by fear or favour. Although I had doubts about their statement of "uninfluenced by fear", but that's just me)

And why would they do that? Well, from my intepretation probably because they are the practitioners of law. But as much as they practised it, our Parliament legislates and approves laws, sometimes to a point where we approve laws more than we debate those laws. (Seriously, I don't know where I read it, but our current Speaker actually laments the fact that we are not approving enough Bills. Wtf? I thought the Dewan Rakyat is used for debate, not to pass Bills easily man) So probably some lawyers, law enforcers wanted to open a forum to discuss, give opinions, you know, some laws are just too strict.

However, I'm a little baffled (and I'm sure many others too) by the reason of protest. Closed door discussion? Don't spark the anger? Don't make things worst? Hello. If I hear it properly they were discussing about the law, not the religion. I certainly do not recall any signs of condemning the religion whatsoever. But the demonstrators clearly was not happy with the way the Bar Council has done.

Which really brought me to question: Do they perceive the Bar Council to be elite? That they should not touch on what they do not know? Or rather, that they perceived that the Bar Council is just discussing on being an elite?

For me, I see it as an intellectual discussion, a way to understand what I do not understand. Because, as much as I'm interested in another religion, I wouldn't go all out and try asking really sensitive issues, even to the point about conversion. I mean it would be annoying, probably they might think that I'm interested to join the religion to ask so much. Heh. Sometimes curiousity is a pain because you want to know something, but if you go all out you might end up with really queer looks or probably they might pester you in return.

I'm sure a lot of Malaysians out there might reject a certain point of view, simply because they claimed themselves more superior than others, that their viewpoint is better, that people should listen to them. Soon, they begin to have followers, to have an audience of their own, and they begin preaching and still providing viewpoints of their own. However, when something out of the norm pops out, the first thing that these followers first do is to reject those messages, especially if they were highlighted by the preachers themselves.

Case in point: the recent Education in Malaysia "controversy" (because it's hardly one) where Ong Kian Ming highlighted a blogger, EC who called him "Bodoh" in the article. And many of the loyal readers of Education in Malaysia (who chose to remain anonymous for some reason) went to that guy's blog to bombard him for calling Kian Ming bodoh, before they even read his blog. Poor guy, but even though I admit that his arguments are flawed, I'd say kudos for providng a different point of view. I mean, it's true. Whoever said that just because you reach a certain age, your views are more important than the rest? Just because you age that means you deserve more credit?

And they wonder why youths hate to respect the elderly so much when some of them deserved the title "old crackpot" for not bothering to listen to the youths.

I mean lets face it, some people just do not listen to lecturers, professors, and the like because they like to claim superiority due to their intelligence, their certificates, their experience. But so what if all they are going to do is talk shit?

Sorry, just my opinion.

So maybe they have the leader of the country who said that discussing about religion openly is a crime, and then some very loyal members garner enough supporters to make a ruckus outside the Council Hall, and despite the many attempts to invite them to come in to discuss the views with them, they continued to make a lot of noise, until the forum was forced to cancel earlier.

Again, today many of the newspapers headlines had quotes from the Home Ministry, Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, all saying that the forum was uncalled for. Wow, I thought the Executive branch is supposed to mind their own business, their own administration is also at risk of falling down and they have the time to bother what the judiciary is thinking?

Yea, those are my point of views, sue me.

Back to the topic, I guess it is up to how we perceive things. Some might call it Intellectual Discussion. Some might not be uncomfortable with the contents, and by that they claimed the forum moderators unfit to raise sensitive issues, branding them being Academic Elites, that they deserve their own say also. That is why they have the right to voice their dissatisfaction, that is why they should make a ruckus, and that is why people should give attention to them.

But what really matters, would you want to see an open discussion which (hopefully) have a certain transparency, able to allow to present different point of views which are, hopefully not just from the academics, not just the speakers, but hopefully the audience are able to participate as well.

I am giving more examples because this not only occur in the political scene, like the talk I've attended about Gavin Menzies and his discussion on how China discover the world first, way before anyone else did. So at first, the question was openned to the floor, and everyone had their turn, well, the elderly ones got their turn. Students did not bother to ask any questions, because if there are people who came all the way from London just to catch his talk, we should let them have the chance to answer. So after some time, they allowed the last question, and the man stood up, quite properly, went and asked Mr. Menzies in a serious tone:
"I have a son-in-law who's from Spain, and he's very interested in the Chinese culture, so what I'm asking is that, do you think Spain has Chinese ancestry in them?"

We, namely students, all fell down straightaway. What has your son-in-law's ancestry got to do with him discovering that China was the first country to sail around the world?

Sigh.

So think. Intellectual Discussion or Academic Elitism, or should we just practise plain "Ignorance is bliss"?

I rest my case.

Something else more interesting than my mindless rant.

My dear dear Foreign Minister,

It's either you are clueless, or you just have to brush up your knowledge in International Relations.

Eh wait a minute, this UN knowledge should be part of your syllabus already when you are a teenager, since it have been existing for 60 years.

In the latest report on how you commented that the US should not meddle with our politics, and that another organisation like the United Nations have the right to, because they are the international organisation, might I point out that US is one of the permanent members of UN? That they are the founding members?

That being the permenant members they have the power to veto anything proposed by the committee? That they are the ones who propose everything but sign nothing? By right, they could set up any rules they want, and breach all of them, because they are founding members.

What's even better, you gave them another loophole to further probe into the investigation.

Well done, my Foreign Minister. Instead of trying your best to keep their noses out of the saga, you are now giving them more reasons to continue nosing around. Probably the next time they speak they'll announce "As one of the permanet members of UN, I hereby declare that the USA have the right to intervene".

Then you can bloody kick yourself for making such a stupid statement, and giving them the realisation that Malaysia is governed by stupid people.

I've always had more respect for you than the entire Cabinet members because I see that you are capable of handling a few relationships with the international committee, but never would I thought that you would utter such nonsense. Sheesh. Even if you want to claim some other global organisations, don't use UN la. Come on.

On another note, the lecturer showed something about Disenfranchisement which happened during the Bush presidency and elections, and it has been highlighted since year 2000. That documentary talks about how the African Americans were disenfranchised. Their names were being cut off from the electoral roll, because their names were too similar with another name who is a felon.

Or the ballot machines were just not enough to cater the massive amount of voters in that area. It's not that those ballot machines were broken or malfunctioned. They just mysteriously did not appear during the time when the voting dates arrived. Many of the politicians argued, and even brought it up to the Congress. There is something beautiful about friendship and support when other congressmen and congresswomen from other parties demanded the Republicans for explanations regarding the votes or voters who were not able to cast their votes.

It is a sign of discrimination for American citizens so many years after Martin Luther King gave his famous speech. Sad isn't it, that the dominant ones will just not uphold their principles to be unite with others, and instead manipulating the voters and citizens of the minority or staying in areas concentrated with those minorities?

I find that sign way too similar with what is going on here. Especially regarding the electoral rolls. That was the time when many of the citizens find phantom voters registering to their house address, amounting to 50 of them sometimes. It is just odd that when proposed that every Malaysian citizen be given the right to vote automatically at the age of 21, the Election Commission rejected it.

Why? Because we are all aging differently? It's the weirdest decisions to reject that. Not only it'll make the system smoother, it'll eliminate chances of phantom voters. Unless they felt that they still need to continue behaving like saints while tampering with the votes. Just saying, that it is weird.

Ah well, I'm living on historic times as my lecturer put it. He even suggest that we should write it down so that we can present it to the next generation later on. Haha. Right...wait, isn't this what I'm doing?

=D

I'm an Image Consultant yo!

Disclaimer: Blog Post may be credible or not, up to reader's intepretations because said Blogger/Author/Image Consultant/Future Journalist is pissed. She also doesn't give a damn if the guilty one will acknowledge her in the end. She just want to rant.

I admit, I'm a fan of all scandals, gossips, knowledge, discoveries and what not.

Frankly, I'm a master of every other medium combined. Why?

My boyfriend's from Broadcasting; I study their mechanisms. I had to face PR, therefore I study their methods. My good friends, Islander and Bloodsuns are from Advertising, they gave me great insights on the advertising field. Lastly, I minor in Political science; I study the political arena everyday without fail.

What? It's true, Journalists have to be Jack-of-all-trades, and Masters of everything. We are the doctors, lawyers, firemen, photographers, graphic designers, editors, and all other professionals combined. Without us, do you think you'll get coverage of your knowledge?

I'm a lil pissed off at the moment because I was just doing my usual browsing at different blogs. Then I come across Shadowfox's blog, about the scandal, again. Frankly, I didn't want to comment about it although I'm constantly hungry about more scandalous affairs, because seriously? I don't give a damn who gets hurt in this scandal. It's their personal lives getting blown out of proportion by every other attention whore out there. I only like reading them, but I'll never make it an analysis or some shit or trying to pin anyone down.

Then of course, the only other thing Shadowfox had was his commentors. I know he did a coverage about S.U before, but hey, everyone gets their chance to voice out. I don't mind. And then, I came across with this:

Kenninaz said:
fox,

you're great. what would m'sian blogsphere do without u? and i quote a good friend of mine, "shadowfox is the RPK of msian blogsphere!"

honestly, lets put it this way. lets get to the root of the problem. affairs are never a one-way thing. u can't clap with one hand. it always takes two to tango. if u can't control your dick, u're guilty. if u can't control your hatch, u're guilty too. no two ways about it.

so, shadowfox is right. it all started with ICQ & kennysia. u do the crime, u do the time. wat is happening is just a condemned woman who won't go to hell alone; dragging all who's connected to this fiasco down with her. the rest are just... collateral damage.

ICQ & kennysia, just accept that you're guilty and shut up. whatever else sins that others might or have committed due to this scandal (that BOTH OF YOU conjured up), passing judgement on others WILL NOT absolve u of what u did. those who did blab/gossip/tell lies... they will receive their due punishment. but not from YOU.

to the rest of the supporting cast, u learn, and u move on. as the chinese saying goes, "sooner or later, water will be squeezed out of a rock". the truth shall prevail.

And I go "WTF KANASAI!". You know why?

I was the one who made the claim that Shadowfox IS the Raja Petra Kamaruddin of Blogosphere yo! Before that, no one said that he is the RPK. They just knew him as the guy who bitched about Malaysian Dreamgirls. So indirectly, I called him the RPK of blogosphere first yo! I should get PAID for this.

Look at my motherfucking link la stupid. It's not like I put it there straightaway after this comment. My friends can all testify to that cause I showed them the funny blog post about MDG and I go around in msn saying that "Shit, He's just like Raja Petra Kamaruddin wei! Scold anybody who pisses him off. I'll put him on my link now and give him that name. Wahaha"

Any tech savvy people who knew how to read blogger's html mode would know that I really put it there so much earlier before everybody go "woohoo, Shadowfox is RPK! Shadowfox is RPK!"

And that goddamn link was there for a few bloody months after I made that claim. At least give me some credit la "good friend". And this was made after the MDG saga ah, not after he blogged about the RPK arrest, but that further seals his name for being the RPK because of his writing style in that post alone.

While everybody go "Walau Shadow you write like the Man himself" I was there reading silently acknowledging that I KNEW about that fact Long Long ago. I bragged to Ephyon about it. Because I'm so perasan like that. Back then, I didn't know people would actually bother to take context out of my blog. But now, I do.

So "good friend" of mine Kenninaz, while you get all the applause and credit for being such a "good" analyser and providing a good summary, I'm here fuming because finally somebody actually bothers to steal stuff from my blog, without giving me any fucking credit. And this is something taken out of my context! Comparing to how Kenny "steals" my question to ask Luis Felipe Scolari about it, this is something I felt that I should be given credit for.

If you need further reference to my knowledge in knowing how I can be an image consultant, and I'm not faking it here's how:

Kenny Sia ---> Nuffnang Blog Pimp (because any blog he had pimped on are always by Nuffnang, and they, the bloggers, gain instant fame after that)

Nicole Tan --->Kiss Her, get rewards (She does give out a lot of presents to her readers if you kissed her alot [as in giving comments la! she'll put how many kisses she get mah! hamsap la you buggers.])

Vincent Tan ---> Asshole-like blog posts yet thoughtful (True. His posts are very asshole-like, but it did make you stop and stare[pun intended])

Nigel John Pinto ---> Strangely funny and thoughtful at the same time. (=D pay me Nigel!)

So unless you've seen these titles somewhere else, does it show that I have that talent to name whichever blogs and giving them the image they deserved?

Okay? Not Enough proof?

Click HERE!!! then. That was the time when I found Shadowfox such a nice read, and the evolution of change in my blog links. I found so many other bloggers out there who doesn't need to show their faces to tell the world on what they feel. I LOVE those blogs. =D

So if anybody is kind enough to link my blog from now on because I'm such a worthy intellect then just give me credit la yor! Don't be like The Star last time, take blog post but don't give credit. I'll laugh at your asshole-like achievements for the longest time.

Finally, this is a copyright I want to borrow from Shadowfox (See, I give him credit ok!!!) that I want to use for all blog context thieves and dumbasses who cannot think for themselves.

mlm_d^_^b_mlm

Toodles.

P.S: If anyone else called him the RPK of blogosphere way before me, please present me a link please. Thank you. Then I'll dropped the "Image consultant" madness. Because as far as my knowledge can reach, I was the first one calling him that.

When "Philosophers" Talk

It's kind of normal for me and a few buddies to sit down and exchange a few stories about what our theories have and why and such. It may not be extremely "philosophical" but its just what we do when we are free, to exchange informations. What more when all of us are communication students. Heck, sometimes me and Ephyon will just argue over anything.

Just before that we were debating about whether can Sabah and Sarawak become independent if they were separated from the Peninsular. I must say we do have a lot of interesting points raised. Me thinks it'll be good for memory storage if I do become a MP, and brought it up in the Parliament. I might reproduce that full argument when I have the time.

Something about my friend said that is somehow the reason why journalists are underpaid is because the job itself is demanding, with all the deadlines and stuff.

Then I gave the >_> look.

Duh la, because why is the "demanding" job so underpaid? Advertisers are also facing a lot of pressure, pressure, and more pressure, and yet their pay is so much higher. Sometimes even 10k per project. Not fair. You mean visuals pays more than a few mere texts?

Ephyon said it could be because freelance journalists are also on the payroll.

Walau, what a discrimination towards the "desk people". Not only do we work our ass off like dogs for a newspaper company that we Might Not like, we have to face the editors, politicians, arrogant bastards, stuck ups, perverts, and yet we earn so much lesser to even afford a proper house in 50 years. Not to mention that I want my full blasting in-house system, and a Sony Playstation 3.

Argh, then why do I want to be in this field so much??

Simple, I love scandals, and free invites. Samantha is correct. about one thing. Communication practitioners do get to party for free and also get to touch celebrities with their bare hands, who knows, if they are so fucking lucky, they'll end up in bed with one or two stars.

Sigh, sometimes the temptations of this job really made me wonder why am I in a relationship. It's just not thrilling enough when you know you are attached.

Just today, I saw a few good looking guys in the Chinese Song Competition. They caught our eyes, and I certainly caught theirs. I mean, we, the Journalism gang, are the stupid bunch who constantly rush to the front just to catch that few pictures, they might think we are fans. Bah, we are just doing our job. I had that urge to talk to a few of them, but alas, I'm reminded that I'm NOT single. Just a good look at Sofia, and I felt that invisible string tightened. Or maybe I'm just not that excited over good looking boys. Because there was another girl who is also in a relationship and she still oggle and squeal anyway.

Although there are a few people that I really really want to interview, and make friends with. Nah, not the blogger meets celebrity kind. More like the One on one interviews with the various different stars. That would be cool. Really.

Top of the list is Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. He's an Oxford student already leading a political party at my age. Okay la, partly was because his mother got killed by the terrorist attack (which only happened last year), but he's not leading the party actively, not until he graduates from Oxford at least. And from googling pictures of him it's quite apparent that he's adapting to the student life well. Plus, He's so good looking!

I believe we can be very good friends. *swoons* He had such an exotic look of his. Probably from his mother. His mom looked very exotic herself.

I have told Ephyon that I want to interview him, but all he gave was this very blank look. Politics is still not his game. But then again, neither it is Bilawal's, yet. I just want to interview him to be friends with him. Wahahaha.

Second would be Kaka, or Cristiano Ronaldo, both for different reasons. Hopefully by that time I'm presentable enough to seduce them. Wtf. Nolah, I'll never take Kaka away from his beautiful wife, just want to know what their lives are like. Not sure why Cristiano Ronaldo becomes very appealing and I want to know how did he lived his frivolous life. Probably watching him seducing other girls, or trying to seduce me (as if I'm that lucky) is an excitable event itself anyways. Kaka is more like the kind of guy who I want to sit down and have coffee with. Or he is the type who becomes my tour guide and show me around Brazil. He certainly looked that part, and he looks extremely sincere. Being cute is just an extra feature.

And oh, I've found another anonymous blogger to add into the list. He is also a journalist! Yay! Another journalist. I prefer to find more journalist blogs because at least it feels like there are more people who owns a blog despite being, or wanting to become, a journalist.

That blogger is Eyeris, although the moment when I read his blog posts I knew his identity straightaway. That's because he wrote in the exact same style in his blog and in the newspaper. (Isn't it right Michael? Hahahahaha. That MCSC is quite a hint to prove that I'm 70% correct about your identity. And I don't even know you personally yet =X. But I've always liked to read your articles. I'm an avid reader of yours. I believe your reviews more than others =X)

Argh, I'm messing up my brain. With all that philosophy thinking, and covering the event on my own. What was I thinking? No wonder they asked for the photographer to do a separate job, I really couldn't concentrate when I had to do two things at once.

Thank goodness I'm still in student level, I think the editor will kill me if I try being a photographer AND a reporter at the same time. Can't wait for internship, which will happen in another...*counts*...5 months. Oh well. Will wait then. I'm not exactly rushing for it to happen because I can't imagine being a real journalist on the road.

Really.

Toodles.

Review of Cheer 2008, Super Men, The Script

Had finished watching Cheer 2008 on 8tv, and as expected, I was not disappointed with the results. I mean, It is always either Shirtliff, or Dynamitez. They had always been the pioneers, and other cheerleading teams should follow in their footsteps. They are the best examples of vibrance, prowess, and confidence.

My school used to have a cheerleading team called Zircon. It went missing straightafter the "cheerleaders" from my year graduated. I think they do not regard this cheerleading team as the pride of the school now. It was badly formed, and badly dissolved, giving no explanation as to why the dissolution occured.

The only reason I could think of was because they had recruited the wrong kind of girls.

Oh please, you'd think I don't know those people? I had been with some of those "cheers" since primary school. They have practically little to no experience in cheerleading, yet they do not take the initiative to learn more than just that few mere "training camps". Since primary school they had been regarded as the "flowers" of the school, being young, cute, pretty and worse, delicate.

They'll bawl if they broke a nail in a basketball match during primary school. Sometimes I wonder how they even managed to have people continue to oggle and admire their bitchiness. They bitch and complain a lot. Had no respect for boys, mainly that they still be with the boys, even though they don't really like him. And treated him like a dog, and he's one of the Head prefects okay? Many of the more "proper" girls who did not stay in that team resigned merely months after being part of them. They are a disgrace. Vibrant my ass, cheerful my ass, cheerleading has had nothing to do with make ups and gossips. So unless my school is capable of finding people who are passionate in the sport, and not what's there to be part of the sport, Zircon is quite in my opinion, a disgrace. They better not revive this sport without proper planning.

Then again, as always, there could be politics behind the recruitment of the team in my school. There's always a lot of politics involving many things in school. But I stand ground to my decision that the "cheers" in my school's team do not deserve to exist. They should be ashamed if they dare to declare themselves "cheers" and half of them know me in primary school because I'm in the same class with that bunch of people. Seriously, living inside the fake illusion of adoration makes them more full of themselves.

Many other things was that I've fully identified 3 Supermen in Malaysia. There used to be 4 of them, but after much consideration I've decided to drop him off the list. And by Supermen I mean that these "normal" people are so "super" they are above law. Or they think they are so "super" they are able to manipulate the minds of millions for their personal agenda.

Our DPM seemed to be one of those examples. Because I have for all the love of justice, couldn't fathom why the judiciary would want to reject Karpal Singh's call to call him up for witness. What is this? And why is it that being called up as witness spells disaster for many?

All you have to do is tell the truth. Is it that hard?

Oops, I seem to be asking the obvious don't I?

Second would be our lovely PM. Ah, the latest fascination of being named into the computer. One extremely cheap kind that jokingly does not use a hard disk. Why the heck would you want a laptop that doesn't run on a freaking hard disk? Where are you going to install the Operating System? The freaking RAM?

Or are you going to invent a new kind of Operating System that would be the first of its kind and it can run without a hard disk? Whoa. You can beat both Microsoft AND Apple for that!

But no, that is just the stupidity presented by the so-called inventors of iDola. I'm now going to pressure on the real issue.

I'm just extremely angry because he acts like he cannot do anything when he is the freaking General of this whole Cabinet. One command from him and everything will immediately start to work HIS way. I hate it, especially when he puts the blame on us, saying "This is the decision of the rakyat." Goddamn it, did he even really went to the ground to talk to us?

That is why the development of Putrajaya was actually a hidden curse. It is now a place where elitists, arrogant politicians and ignorant assholes stay. They are so secluded from the normal people like us that they think they are thinking like us.

Bah. The next head of the Executive branch of our country better not be over their head.

Third Supermen is DSAI. So far I've been very impressed with the way he deals with situations, especially since he's more clear cut than the PM. However, he's been playing with the minds of the rakyat for too long. He'd better not pull off more dramatic situations. Just get it over and done with. I am a little sick of following his sodomy allegations that it is no longer interesting, more like a drag.

Politicians better not be actors too. Please la, play the part correctly and stop playing with the fire.

On my part of what my life has been going through, so far everything is done, no broken hearts, and I've fallen in love with new bands coming from Europe. I always had high regards for European bands, more so than American ones. Newest is The Script. They are the next big thing. Ephyon's a broadcasting student and even he could tell that they are going to set the Ameican charts off with their singles. Here is "We Cry" and "The Man Who Can't Be Moved"

Oh By the way, I'm also in love with "One Step at a Time". It's so Jordin Sparks. It is also a motivational song for me, helped me cope with my grandfather's demise.

Toodles.

Grrr post

What's wrong with the weather?

As if staying along the line of the Equator is not enough, dry heat decides to take over as well. What's with the freaking weather? Rain damn it! Who cares if it caused a flash flood? At least I'll have a reason to skip my class. Things are really getting depressing as the semester looms nearer to the end. I only have confidence (so far) in my Political Science subjects.

And I officially declare that I hate reading mainstream blogs. Blogs that turn mainstream for no reason that does not reflect his or her views but rather stories about something is now officially not worth reading from me. I have newer and better authors to read from, and for some reason they are all anonymous, apart from the political blogs which I have been reading.

Add another quote thought out by me: "If women are born to believe, then men are born to not deceive". Unfortunately all men cannot tolerate with that fact, but it's true.

The only mistake I've done is to let him know that I never trust anyone fully. Now everything he's doing will always be accumulated into attempts to gain my complete trust whenever we have a fight. Latest was last night, and I'm still a little affected by it.

I took a brain sex test before, that revealed that I'm both a brain of a man and a woman. Ephyon took it and his brains are more inclined to being male.

So much for egoistic fights, because both sides will never lose until someone made a mistake. And I'm special that way, because I always took the position to become a hateable woman, a woman that no man would ever want in their life.

And I wouldn't even bother to find myself to be in a relationship ever since I've reached university, because I was pushed further to uphold the responsibility to be a strong woman given by my mom. I had no choice, I had to be a man, because I'm the eldest, because my brother is too young, because my dad is no longer there. And even if he's still alive, he would've been a lame duck, a useless good-for-nothing waiting for me to scold the hell out of him for wasting my supposed education funds down the drains of the casinos in Genting Highlands. Even as I argue with a few male counterparts, I told them "to hell with relationship if I have to. Its not like when I die people would bother to look and visit me".

The past few events had further proven how much I've grown ever since I left secondary school, being able to handle situations just thrown at me whenever possible. My mother is no longer doubting my abilities, just my commitments. Because of what I've done, my late grandfather managed to live for another month, and because I was calm enough, he was able to be sent to the hospital that pro-longed his life until he had seen most of his family. Had it been given to my sister or brother, I think they would have panicked. They would just wait till my mom gets home. By that time, it would be impossible to save his life.

It is not admitted in anyone's lips, not even my relatives, but they now know the significance of having me as a leader to control the family. My mother now never doubts me for being able to pull off emergency situations.

I'm officially a "man" of my house.

So now, as we are stepping into the 18th month of our relationship, I felt that maybe, I would be filling in the shoes of the bridegroom. Because he needs some assurance, not from the weaker me, but the stronger me.

And that is what I will promise to give.
