An Analysis of the LCW vs LD saga

Yes yes, Lin Dan won.

Yes yes, Lee Chong Wei lost. Yet still obtained a silver. It still broke Malaysia's medal records in Olympic over the years.

But lets analyse on how the finals was played shall we?

When they start their first point match already I noticed that Lee Chong Wei looked different compare to his match against Lee Hyun Il. Then the game on. Lin Dan was practically on fire and Lee Chong Wei kept making mistakes.

Then they put a shot at the audience crowd. Xie Xingfang was there alright. But wait, where's Wong Mew Choo?? She was there in every match before this one.

That's my first suspense. Maybe there is a miscommunication between the lovers before the match and it was troubling him.

Second, would be that he had mentioned on his match against Lee Hyun Il that he didn't sleep the night before because he was too nervous. Could it be that he sacrificed his sleep again just to calm himself down? But we all know that lacking of sleep might either be good, or bad.

Thirdly, the Chinese crowd. They didn't use the Boo technique, but it's very close. It was so noisy. I think Lee Chong Wei is the kind of guy who gets distracted and dejected easily. Then again, I think if it was played in Malaysian soil we'll be noisy as hell too.

Personally I liked Lin Dan's badminton style. However, I find his style too aggressive, especially with the new point system, it's giving him too much advantages. One mistake from the other side oso give him marks. Ah well.

Lee Chong Wei was just playing it safe. Albeit too safe. Lin Dan's intention was obvious. Win the gold fast, before Chong Wei strikes back. Chong Wei was having the look of uncertainty. Gold or no gold?

I ain't going to comment on how arrogant Lin Dan looks when he won, because I fully believe we have a sense of kiasu-ness within us, especially the Chinese, specially kiasu. Why do you think Lee Chong Wei hung his head so low even when presented with a silver?

Still, still, STILL, a silver is better than nothing. He still broke national records, he still maintain as World No.2. However, he might get condemned by the press because of his poor performance. 21 - 12, and 21 - 8. It's sort of embarassing. =/

Kudos for trying, he can try harder in the next 4 years, or erm, give that chance to somebody else? =.=

He's the only young gun in the badminton team so far. The juniors are not up to par, the seniors are too old. It's a little saddening too.

Ah well, any hope from the cyclists yet?

i think Lee Chong Wei had tried his best just that maybe lack of luck, stress, and lack of mental stability...Hope that the press wouldn't condemn him...is not his fault...he at least get a silver medal...betta luck nxt time if he had the chance...

However...really is proud that our Malaysian player - Lee Chong Wei got a silver medal...i always support him...hope everyone will too...Keep doing the beat, LCW...haha...
